Aurora Intelligent Nutrition develops sports nutrition products with plant-based proteins
The Plantprosport project (funded by CDTI and CTA) in collaboration with the Pablo de Olavide University and the Instituto de la Grasa (CSIC) aims to formulate a functional food for athletes based on protein hydrolyzates of vegetable origin, specifically chickpea.

We develop products with alternative proteins
The idea of the project arises from the need and growing demand among consumers for an alternative source of protein to those of animal origin (dairy and casein) in sports nutrition and in the field of consumers looking for healthy or more sustainable alternatives.
The project is based on the physicochemical characterization, nutritional profile and antioxidant activity of chickpea protein hydrolysates by the Instituto de la Grasa. We, Aurora Intelligent Nutrition, based on the results obtained, are in charge of the formulation and elaboration of two products for the consumption of these hydrolyzates in athletes: soluble powders and gels. First, laboratory tests will be carried out, followed by pre-industrial scale tests and finally industrial tests.
The last milestone of the project is the study by the Sports Science team of the Pablo de Olavide University of how the consumption of these functional products affects the performance of athletes.
