We join the European smart crop project

At Aurora Intelligent Nutrition, we are aware of the havoc that climate change is wreaking on the agricultural sector. This, coupled with the impending food supply crisis, has prompted the start of this project aimed at adapting agriculture to this new climate stage.

The European project, awarded by the PRIMA 2021 programme (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area), is made up of a consortium formed, among others, by the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Centre de coopération internationale en recherche agronomique pour le développement (CIRAD) and will be coordinated by the prestigious German University of Hohemhein.

During the project, the productive varieties of quinoa cultivation in marginal environments, i.e. areas that will suffer the consequences of climate change, will be studied. The project will take place in the Mediterranean area, which is most likely to suffer from future desertification.

At Aurora Intelligent Nutrition we cannot conceive of innovation and foodtech without sustainability. Our commitment to the environment is intrinsic to all our decision-making. The development of smart food starts with its sustainable production.

During the project, we will develop products for consumption with the harvest extracted from this type of crop. The project started on 1 June 2022 and has a completion date of 30 September 2023 and is financed by European Funds.
